Hello, I’m Laura and I specialise in Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Hypnotherapy.

 

My approach:

With experience working with clients of all ages I support individuals with a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, low mood, trauma, phobias and life transitions with the goal of empowering them to make positive, lasting changes.

My approach is forward-looking, and solution focused, helping clients take control of their lives and move toward their preferred future in an empowering way.

About me

I am an experienced mental health professional with a strong background in Mental Health Nursing, having worked across a variety of services, including adult mental health, child and adolescent care, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and eating disorders.

 

I went on to train in Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Hypnotherapy and Rewind Trauma Therapy.

 

I am passionate about helping people to change their lives with these effective models of therapy.

 

I have been practising as a private therapist since 2011 and continue to engage in regular professional development and receive ongoing supervision to stay at the forefront of best practices.

 

I have a compassionate, non-judgmental approach, and I am committed to creating a safe and supportive environment offering a person-centred, tailored approach, ensuring that each client receives the care and attention they need to move forward.

 

Training & Qualifications:

I originally trained at CPHT, which is a recognised Centre of Excellence for hypnotherapy training and I hold the Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma, considered to be the gold standard in hypnotherapy.

I went on to train as a Solution Focused Brief Therapist with the BRIEF organisation. 

I then trained as a Rewind Practitioner with David Muss, the founder of IARTT.

I continue to engage in regular professional development and receive ongoing supervision to stay at the forefront of best practices.

I’m an accredited member of The National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH)

I hold an enhanced DBS certificate.

Solution Focused Brief Therapy

Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a fast-acting therapy that helps people to start living the life they want to live. Rather than focusing on your problems or asking you to examine them, SFBT looks at what you do want, how you’d prefer things to be and what’s already working. It promotes feelings of hopefulness, identifying and building on your strengths, skills and resources to move towards your preferred future. SFBT empowers you as it has, at its heart, the fundamental principle that we are the experts in our own lives and can, therefore, find the solutions to our problems.
