Grief

Grief can be heavy, unpredictable, and deeply personal. Whether you’ve lost someone close to you, experienced a major life change, or are feeling the ache of something unspoken, your grief is valid—and you don’t have to carry it alone.

At Laura Adlam Therapy Solutions, I offer calm, respectful support for those navigating grief—providing a space where your experience is met with care, patience, and understanding.

What Is Grief?

Grief isn’t always about bereavement—though the loss of a loved one is one of the most painful experiences we face. It can also follow:

  • The end of a relationship or friendship

  • Miscarriage, stillbirth or fertility struggles

  • Loss of health, identity, or sense of purpose

  • Career changes or retirement

  • Estrangement or complicated family dynamics

Grief can look like sadness, anger, guilt, confusion—or numbness. There’s no “right way” to grieve, and no set timeline. But with support, it’s possible to begin moving forward in a way that honours what you’ve lost and gently reconnects you to life.

Signs You May Be Struggling with Grief

You might notice:

  • Persistent sadness or emotional heaviness

  • Trouble sleeping or withdrawing from others

  • Feeling stuck or unable to move past the loss

  • Difficulty expressing how you feel

  • Fluctuating emotions, including guilt, anger or fear

  • A sense that others expect you to be “over it”

Whatever you’re feeling is valid. Therapy offers a safe, steady space to sit with it all—and make sense of it at your own pace.

How Therapy Can Help with Grief

You don’t need to have the words, or a clear “goal.” You simply need a space where your pain can be witnessed, and where you’re not expected to rush through it.

Through grief therapy, I can help you:

  • Understand the shape of your loss and its impact on your life

  • Process complex or conflicting emotions

  • Explore what healing might look like—without pressure to “move on”

  • Feel less alone or overwhelmed by your experience

  • Rebuild hope, purpose and self-compassion when the time feels right

Flexible Support, However You Need It

I offer therapy for grief in a way that suits your situation and comfort:

  • Face-to-face sessions in Herefordshire

  • Online therapy via Zoom

  • Telephone support for voice-only sessions

There’s no need to show up in any particular way—just as you are.

“Just a little message to say a huge thank you. I certainly would not be where I am without having you to get me back on track”. (Read more on the Testimonials page.)
